 Make German Fest YOUR Family Tradition!

At German Fest, families will find plenty of entertainment throughout the grounds every day. Fireworks, parades, carousel organs, German candies in the Marktplatz, a playground, the Battle of the Mascots, Dachshund Derby, Glockenspiel, German dance performances and more!  Here are a few of our special Children’s Activities:

 

 

 

Culture Pavilion

European Train Enthusiasts Display
German Language Games
Kids of ALL ages can come and test their German language knowledge with games like “Worterklatsche,” German Scrabble, Word Searches, “Zungenbrecher” (Tongue Twisters), matching German words to pictures and other German language games.

Children’s Arts & Crafts
Bring your children ages 4-10 for an hour of FREE, unsupervised but volunteer assisted, make-and-take and hands-on craft activities. Parents welcome to stay and play too!

T-Shirt Tent
Design an original German Fest T-Shirt! Create your own shirt using various colors and stamps such as dachshund, soccer ball, teddy bear, German & American flag, pretzel and many more.

Children’s Fairy Tale Parade – Sunday
ALL CHILDREN ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE!

Sunday, 3:30pm – All children at the fest are welcome to join the children’s dance groups representing the various regions of Germany and of course, Fritzi, German Fest’s lovable mascot and the Usinger Elves. The parade starts near the Glockenspiel and weaves its way through the festival grounds ending at the Sprecher Oktoberfest Tent.  Lineup begins at 3pm.  All children who participate will receive a special treat at the end of the parade.

A great place to relax and enjoy your food and beverage while being entertained by various sports organizations.  Fun for all ages!


Wisconsin Adaptive Sport Association
Innovative and enriching athletic program designed for individuals with orthopedic, visual, and/or other physical/health impairments.  Wheelchair competitions, with audience participation.


Futbolito FC Youth Soccer Program

Fubolito is a program that introduces kids 3-10 years old to footy

The Glockenspiel show takes place every day.  Check the schedule and don’t miss this special performance!  Located on the south end, near the BMO Harris Pavilion.

HARIBO® Sampling

Ready for yummy gummies? HARIBO® is celebrating family fun this year at German Fest! Throughout the weekend they will be handing out delicious HARIBO® GOLD-BEARS® right alongside the official Bear mascot! Swing by for some free HARIBO® GOLD-BEARS® gummies, a big bear hug and an exclusive opportunity to take a photo with the HARIBO® Bear! Oh—and be sure to watch for the Bear in Saturday’s parade. Kids and grown-ups love it so, the happy world of HARIBO®!  Located on the South end of the grounds.

 

Milwaukee Police Department K9 Unit

The Milwaukee Police K9 Unit has been serving the citizens of Milwaukee since 2007. The unit currently has nine K9 teams. The K9s are German Shepherds from Germany and are trained for suspect apprehension, drugs and firearm detection. Members of the MPD K9 Unit, the MPD K9 Foundation and the German-American Police Association will be on grounds Sunday, July 30th.  Stop by their booth located near the Sprecher Tent to learn more about these special German Shepherds and their handlers
